Learn how to organize your teams, manage members, and configure workspace settings in ReleaseKit.
Understanding Workspaces
A workspace in ReleaseKit is an isolated environment for your team’s release management. Each workspace has its own:
- Members and permissions
- Releases and configurations
- Integration settings
- Subscription plan
- Templates and customizations
Workspace Roles
ReleaseKit has three permission levels:
Owner
Full Control:
- ✅ Delete workspace
- ✅ Manage billing and subscriptions
- ✅ Invite and remove members (including other owners)
- ✅ Configure all integrations
- ✅ Create and manage releases
- ✅ Manage templates and settings
Admin
Management Permissions:
- ✅ Invite and remove members (except owners)
- ✅ Configure integrations
- ✅ Create and manage releases
- ✅ Manage templates
- ✅ View workspace settings
Limitations:
- ❌ Cannot delete workspace
- ❌ Cannot manage billing
- ❌ Cannot remove owners
Member
Basic Permissions:
- ✅ View releases
- ✅ Create releases
- ✅ Edit releases
- ✅ Use templates
- ✅ View workspace members
Limitations:
- ❌ Cannot invite members
- ❌ Cannot configure integrations
- ❌ Cannot manage templates
- ❌ Cannot access workspace settings
Managing Members
Changing Roles
Modify member permissions:
- Go to Settings → Members
- Find the member
- Click role dropdown
- Select new role
- Confirm change
Rules:
- Owners can change any role
- Admins can change Member ↔ Admin
- Admins cannot modify Owner roles
- Cannot demote last Owner
Removing Members
Remove members from workspace:
- Go to Settings → Members
- Find the member
- Click Remove
- Confirm removal
What happens:
- Member loses access immediately
- Their releases remain in workspace
- Integration connections are deleted
- Templates they created are preserved
Self-Removal
Leave a workspace:
- Go to Settings → Members
- Find yourself in the list
- Click Delete
Special Cases:
- Last Owner - Cannot leave; must delete workspace or transfer ownership
Workspace Settings
Configure workspace-wide preferences.
Switching Workspaces
Easily switch between workspaces:
Quick Switcher
- Click workspace name in top navigation
- View list of your workspaces
- Click workspace to switch
- You’re now in the selected workspace
Workspace Deletion
Delete Workspace
⚠️ Warning: This action is irreversible!
Requirements
- Must be workspace Owner
- Must confirm workspace name
What Gets Deleted
- All releases and configurations
- All workspace members (kicked out)
- All integration connections
- All templates and settings
- All subscription data
How to Delete
- Go to Settings → Danger Zone
- Click Delete Workspace
- Type workspace name to confirm
- Click Delete Workspace Permanently
If Last Workspace
If this is your only workspace:
- Your entire ReleaseKit account is deleted
- All data is permanently removed
- OAuth connections are revoked
- You can create a new account anytime
Account Deletion
Delete your entire ReleaseKit account:
- Switch to your last workspace
- Delete the workspace
- Your account is automatically deleted

- Select billing period:
- Monthly - $19/month
- Annual - $199/year
- Enter payment details
- Confirm subscription

Managing Subscription
Update Payment Method
- Settings → Billing
- Click Update Payment Method
- Enter new card details
- Save changes
Change Plan
- Settings → Billing
- Click Change Plan
- Select new plan or interval
- Confirm change
- Prorated charges apply
Cancel Subscription
- Settings → Billing
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Confirm cancellation
- Access until period end
- Reverts to Free plan
